Findings and Conclusion
Findings:
My research shows that technology can play a significant factor in helping young readers build a sense of story. My observations showed that technology increased students' motivation to plan, create, and publish their writing. In addition, technology allowed children to share their work with a broader audience which helped develop a sense of purpose.
Below are some writing samples from students before using the technology and after using technology to plan, edit and publish. More details were added to students' writing and their words reflected the author's voice. Furthermore, students were more aware of using appropriate writing conventions because people other than myself were going to read their stories. This growth happened over the course of two months.

Conclusion:
Today's teachers are presented with an incredible opportunity to incorporate technology into their classrooms. Technology allows students to expand their microsystem and share their knowledge with others, especially in regards to building a sense of story. My research showed me that using technology even with students as young as kindergarten can be very beneficial because it allows them to create digital texts. In today's world, readers are reading more digital texts because technology has become readily available. Using technology in the classroom, allows children to develop twenty-first century skills that are important in our digital society.
Digital texts make writing less laborious because it simplifies the process. When students use pencil and paper, they are having to think of an idea, convert their thoughts into words, and then write the words on their paper. Technology can remove some of the cognitive and motor work from the writing process. In addition, technology helps students reach a broader audience because they can easily share their published work with people beyond the school and classroom.
This project has brought to my attention the importance of including 21st century skills in my lessons. Students are more motivated to create, edit and publish their writing because they see it come to life using technology.
