Why are stories important?
PEARL ARREDONDO: MY STORY, FROM GANGLAND DAUGHTER TO STAR TEACHER
As a society we need students to develop a sense of story so that they can communicate their ideas and experiences with others. These stories can be shared to educate and inform others just like Pearl's story from gang leader's daughter to an educational entrepreneur. From Pearl's story we learn "everyone has a story, everyone has a struggle, everyone needs help along the way". As educators our job is to equip students with auditory, oral and written language skills so that they can share their stories!
